FORGIVENESS
In one church it was the need of a congregation to forgive their Pastor. In another it was the need of a Pastor to forgive the congregation. In others it was the need of congregants to forgive one another.
Recently, one church in our area placed banners all over town saying, “Please Forgive Us If We Have Offended You!” I have to admit, I was taken aback by that church’s willingness to become vulnerable to criticism for its open confession that it has probably offended people in its community.
Without forgiveness, a person cannot move forward in their walk with God. Without forgiveness, a church cannot have true revival. Without forgiveness, there can be no healing or restoration of an individual, church or community. OR NATION!!!!!
I pray this message can be used in some measure to bring healing to the congregation you minister should there be a need. Please use it as you will.

My key verse, my text is from Daniel: 3 verse 16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your threat means nothing to us. If you throw us in the fire, the God we serve can rescue us from your roaring furnace and anything else you might cook up, O king. But even if he doesn’t, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn’t serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”
Nebuchnezzar was furious with them and his attitude towards them changed, he commanded the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual and he commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up the three and throw them into the blazing furnace in the heat of the moment. That’s my key text; God does his best in the heat of the moment.

A lump of coal under intense heat and pressure becomes a very valuable and expensive diamond, in the heat of the moment gold is refined and purified in the heat of the moment. Your test will become your testimony, and your mess will become your message after the heat of the moment. A vessel of honour, a beautiful expensive vase after its been crafted for so long its final stage, after it’s been painted, and looking beautiful is then placed in a kiln in the heat of the moment. People develop best in the heat of the moment; God always does his best in the heat of the moment.

Terry Eckersley is an inspiration to listen to, and an inspiration to read. His dad died when Terry was 13, and the downward spiral of truancy, rebellion, drugs, borstal, crime, prison (how many prisons?) is graphically portrayed. And then he found salvation in Jesus Christ. You can sense the excitement, the vitality and sheer enthusiasm for living the new exciting life that followed. With virtually no education Terry rapidly gained a myriad of qualifications, including postgraduate diplomas, which together with his Holy Spirit powered drive, propelled him into a high flier in the world of Church, Media and Charities. Now an evangelist with a healing ministry, this man certainly has a story to tell. But be prepared – he writes like he speaks, with verve and sheer enthusiasm. I’ve just finished reading it, and I feel exhausted! And challenged! And inspired! Thank you Terry.

‘Born Ready’ that you gave to my husband Derek on Friday at ‘Men for Jesus ‘ meeting.

together or good, if we love God and are called according to His purpose.

Lets think about that right now, all things in my life and your life, if we fulfil the pre-requisite that we love God, ALL things are working out, together for our good. If we lean I to our relationship with God today, through our faith in Jesus and all He did at Calvary. Love Him, worship Him, it’s all good! Not for bad, not for evil, not for crisis, for good! Romans 8-28 and Jeremiah 29-11 confirm this truth, by faith in our hearts and minds today. Everything, or all things are working out, together for our good. He’s called us and He IS working out everything for our good, our jobs, our relationships, work, everything we are and do. Lets solidify this mindset today and have a good day as God has said He is committed to.

behalf. Behind the scenes, God is working, Wow when we work, we think of
hard graft, imagine God Almighty, who created and rules and reigns over the who.e universe working on my and your behalf! We can have the confidence, we can have a renewed perspective today and always, it’s ALL working out. I have found out, that this simple powerful truth is not only spiritual, It is very real and tangible. God knows what we need, when we need and where we need! Lets lean into God today and always, lets love Him, as long as we fulfil this simple pre-requisite, lets walk and talk and live with the divine confidence, It’s all working out! word together. We are often destination based people, I don’t know about
you, but I’m tempted to be. We often want to get to the destination and not enjoy the journey of life. I’ve learned to understand that the TOGETHER
, is a very important theme and word. The together, doesn’t get any better,
I’ve found that spending time with my family and close friends is as good as life gets. I mean this is the precious people, God has given me, my family, my wife! Our Friends, colleagues, Church leaders and friends. This is US together enjoying God working it ALL out together for OUR good.

It’s all working out, together FOR GOOD. Wow! God is working my life and
your life out, not inward, outward for good! I like that, I’m confident in
That, I’ve been simply believing and living like this now for twenty years
since I first read this verse in Romans 8-28 when in what seemed like a
crisis. God was then able and still is able to start working it out. Together today we can have full confidence in Gods love through the finished work of The Cross. Not misplaced confidence in people, things, the economy, as Paul said be confident in this that He who began a good work in you, will bring it to completion. Now that’s confidence. We can have the same confidence that the Apostle Paul had. Lets lean into and trust God, through the finished work of The Cross and the person of Jesus to continue to work EVERYTHING out for OUR GOOD! Stay blessed terryeckersley.co.uk

I was always one of THOSE at school, who was always in trouble at School, home, police, the list goes on and on. I then started to hear Jesus calling me from His teachings in the book of Mathew. I heard Him calling me through the voices of THOSE other Christians. Then I became one of those who believed God loved me, Jesus died for me and God had a mighty plan for my life! Are you one of THOSE now, if not you can be. This is an easy and accepting gang to join. I came into this gang years ago by a simple, yet powerful understanding that I fully believed that Jesus has died for me personally on the Cross, ALL my sins became forgiven and forgotten, I became one of THOSE and it all started to start working out for terryeckersley.co.uk

Part 3: Dream big dreams
Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of ‘the brightest and the best’ among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these ‘nobodies’ to expose the hollow pretensions of the ‘somebodies’? – 1 Corinthians 1:26-29
In an episode of The Apprentice, Alan Sugar said to one of the contestants: ‘You’re a lightweight – you’re fired!’ But, Jesus says: ‘You’re a lightweight – you’re hired’. The Bible says God calls the weak and foolish to stir up the world, not the ‘wise’ or the ‘noble’:
So, if you think you’re a ‘nobody’, you’re a lightweight, that’s great! You’re a prime candidate for Jesus to use for his glory. All through the Bible, and throughout history, God has used flawed, weak, people to show his glory.
People like Peter the apostle who Jesus called his ‘rock’. Despite denying Jesus three times, Jesus restored him and he went on to found and lead the Christian church. People like King David who had an affair with Bathsheba and killed her husband to cover up his disgrace. But after publicly confessing his sin, God forgave him and he is now considered Israel’s greatest ruler.
People like Gideon the Judge who was hiding from his enemies when God spoke to him. He was so unsure of his calling from God to free the people of Israel he demanded a miracle. When God gave him a clear sign, he demanded another! But God was patient – gave him a second sign – and led Gideon into battle where he defeated his oppressors.
God uses frightened, rebellious, weak people to do his work. People like you and me. So, don’t worry if you are a lightweight – you’re hired!
Stop thinking small
But don’t do yourself down. Jesus has called you, in your weakness, to do great things. So stop thinking small. Aim high. Dream big dreams. In Ephesians 3:20 it says: ‘God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!’ Think of that, God can do more than we can ask, dream or imagine. God has called you – yes you! – to do great things.
You are working on big plans, so dream big, think big, pray big! Amazing people of God throughout history – like Charles Wesley, John Wesley, and William Booth – they made big plans and prayed big prayers. They wanted to perform huge miracles, build big buildings, and change the world. To be a True Apprentice you need to do the same.
On the job: No quiche!
‘I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.’ – John 10:10
Jesus came so that we could have life to the full. A life of power and victory. He didn’t come so that we could eat cold supermarket quiche. It’s now the 21st century, but at every church social gathering we still seem to eat quiche. And I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of it.
A year or so ago I was at my home group, which is run by a great Christian couple. They are living in the real world, praying for God’s Kingdom and expecting great things. But they served us sausage rolls, peanuts and cold quiche! So I told them how much I appreciate them but that I had a problem with their quiche.
I told them what I thought of it and they sat there listening thoughtfully and humbly to my quiche rant. Then another guy piped up saying: ‘I hate quiche’. I did a double take. ‘I hate it,’ he repeated. He’d been in the church for 30 years and never told anyone! He’d been gracious and compassionate about quiche!
So I encouraged him, as a Christian brother, to let it all out – be released from cold quiche. So he repeated: ‘I hate quiche. I hate it!’ He received deliverance that night.
In Philippians 4:8 the apostle Paul says this: ‘Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.’
Excellence is at the heart of the abundant life that Jesus has called us to live. He doesn’t want us to accept second best in any area of our lives. He wants the best for us and he expects us to think about the best, live the best lives we can, and be excellent in everything we do. Cold quiche has no place in God’s perfect plan!
The 21st century church needs to be delivered from a spirit of quiche. Jesus came so that we can have real and eternal life, more and better life than we ever dreamed of. So let’s not be lukewarm, tepid and boring. Ditch the quiche. To me it represents mediocrity, an enemy called ‘average’. It stinks. It’s cold. It’s boring. Get a curry. Serve up a Chinese. Bring out the tapas. But deliver us from quiche!

And it’s not just me who thinks this, there’s a website with a petition: Christians against quiche. ‘It’s slimy, it’s cheesy and it’s almost certainly of the devil,’ it says. So, come on, your voice:

Now you have the chance to have an impact on world history. As the quiche-haters of this planet join forces and sign this petition, church leaders everywhere will be forced to say “NO” to quiche. Let’s stop the e-flangelicals. Join me and say BAN THE FLAN!
